Portfolio/Blog

Joseph Velasquez graduated with a degree of Bachelor of Fine Arts, Major in Information Design from Ateneo de Manila. He's currently working as a graphic designer/art director for a sports network in the Philippines, but still does freelance work to keep himself sane and to remind himself why he chose to follow his passion for design over becoming a lawyer.

He also designs/illustrates for his home Church to give thanks and glory to God.

He still wants to become an astronaut.

Lillie (1913-2010)My grandmother was a really cool and special lady. She grew up very poor in Hungary. She outwitted the Nazis to survive WWII.She found her way to America and loved it here. She wrote about it all in her memoirs. She was married for 71 years! She cooked incredible stuffed cabbage and squeezed her own orange juice. She played Uno and Rummikub with us.She always hung my drawings on the refrigerator. She was the best grandmother you could ever have and I’m gonna miss her.

Narcisa Puno (1914-2007)
Like danmeth’s grandma,My grandmother was a really cool and special lady.I don’t know much about her childhood but I do know awesome things about her. She’s what a Filipina should be.She defined what a mother should be.She survived WWII.She raised 9 God-fearing children, who are now successful individuals (and imagine how many grandchildren she helped raise too). She taught me how to skip-count by 5 and how to multiply. She taught me my first prayer. She cooked incredible chicken adobo, fried chicken, and chicharon. She encouraged me to draw and draw some more (now I’m a Fine Arts student). She always said “Wow” with a smile when I showed her my drawings. She waited for me to graduate from high school before joining the Good Lord above. She was the best grandmother you could ever have and I’m gonna miss her.
danmeth, our grandmothers are living happily ever after right now.
